Mobility is a modality through which power is enacted and contested. And in cities congested by cars on a planet endangered by climate crisis, how we move through public space has become a topic of intensified interest and widened implications. As both activists and academics have noted, race, economics, gender, sexuality, age, and ability intersect in the making of movement. Movements & Mobility aims to connect communities and individuals, draw together social science scholarship on mobility with humanities research on social movements, and provide a forum for discussion and debate.
